This app rocks.

I cant find a translator that really works. This one has some great translations sometimes, and then doesnt on other times. It seems like these developers use a template and that template is fundamentally wrong. In English, we use so much slang and words that have more than one meaning along with phrases that, translated word for word, dont mean what they say. For example, go break a leg is like saying good luck. Why? Somewhere in our history, something happened and it was said, I think, something like Opposite Day or whatever, but my point is that someone needs to stop using the templates and make a translator from scratch with people who know both languages and start there. Little by little growing so that each translation is made by knowing exactly what is being said. Right now, too many mistakes in all of them.

Otherwise, its pretty good. NOW GET OFF MY BACK!

I got this app hoping that in a pinch, it could say what I needed. Only issue is when I was at a bus station, trying to find the right bus to take, I couldnt ask my question because I did not think of it before I left the hotel and add it to my list. Otherwise, its great. If you have a data plan in a foreign country, then it is perfect. But if you do not, and you are in the middle of nowhere, you can not use it in an emergency. It is hard to think of every phrase you might need, ahead of time! In addition, maybe I just cant figure out how to do it, but it would be nice to put my various questions into the categories I need. Leaving the list loose, means I need to scroll through it to find what I may need to say.

Great app for translating a number of languages!

Nothing in this app worked "offline"! Paid for the upgrade and it STILL didnt work! Very disappointed!

Was so excited at first as it seemed to be exactly what I needed. However the phrasebook isn’t available for offline use. Would have been nice to have known that before I upgraded. Thanks for nothing.

Having lived in Okinawa for 3 years this app has saved my life numerous times. Additionally it has helped me learn new words and how to write/spell out phrases while attempting to learn Japanese. I havent even scratched the surface when it comes to the other languages available within this app!! I highly recommend this to anyone who travels or lives overseas.

I love this app and am amazed with the number of <-> translatable languages, even less "popular" languages. I find myself using this app as my go-to app for ALL translations-even over my language-specific translation apps (specifically Russian <->English apps). I can attest to the accuracy of the app for <-> translations of Kazakh, Turkish, Greek and Serbian because I use it often in communicating with my international friends/colleagues.

Just looking for a translator that works offline. Tested this one with my data plan off..no dice

Really impressed with this...the translations..italian,.. are fairly accurate, not perfect but certainly good enough to be very effective for a traveler etc. The translations are identical t a couple of other translation apps so they must be pulling the same info from google translate or another source. A very useful aspect is a left hand panel that includes various useful phrasses by type, / situation...Tried a number of apps and find this the most real and useful

The in-app purchase said that by buying a voice for the app will also remove ads. Did not say anything about having to pay additional $0.99 to do so. The way its stated, its part of buying the voice package and not an additional purchase requirement. While $0.99 is not a big deal, it is a misrepresentation and can be a significant amount when you multiply with total number of purchases. They need to be upfront and be clear about it and make it a requirement to also purchase “Pro Upgrade” to remove the ads, or give a choice not to remove add when voices are purchased.

This app has been so helpful. I went to Greece and the only way I could communicate sometimes was to write in a sentence in English, and then let them read the translation. Then they would respond and Id read their translation! Very helpful especially if youre having a conversation and get stuck on a word neither of you knows. And as long as you dont use sayings where the meaning of the word its self would not translate properly (thats cool, "Im beat"), Ive found this app to be very accurate. I use it to familiarize myself with names of restaurants, translate ads and events. And often just because Im curious as to what something says! A friend and I even use it to text each other to work on our Greek! Each time it shows us how to say a sentence or short paragraph. I really like this app, and think that it has been the most useful of all the language apps I gathered in preparation for traveling. Cause it works in so many languages, it helps wherever you are!
